SCOPE OF ENGAGEMENTS

Five disciplines. One documentary standard.

Each engagement is scoped in writing, supported by verifiable market data, and delivered in a format built for negotiation, mediation, or the courtroom.

01 / 05

Total-Loss Valuation Disputes

Independent determination of actual cash value when a settlement figure is contested — with every comparable, adjustment, and source documented so the number can be tested, not merely asserted.

REF TL-01
02 / 05

Expert Reports & Testimony

Written opinions structured for admissibility, with deposition and trial testimony available. The report is built so that the analysis — not the author's confidence — carries the weight.

REF EX-03
03 / 05

Insurance Claim & CCC One / Mitchell Review

Line-by-line audit of carrier valuation reports: comparable selection, condition adjustments, and methodology examined against the market record, with findings set out plainly.

REF CR-05
04 / 05

Estate, Bankruptcy & Divorce Valuation

Neutral valuations for vehicles and collections where courts, trustees, or opposing parties require an independent figure — dated, documented, and defensible.

REF FV-04
05 / 05

Diminished-Value Claims

Quantifying the market penalty a vehicle carries after repair: a disciplined pre-loss versus post-repair analysis grounded in observable market behavior rather than formula shortcuts.

REF DV-02
PROCESS SCHEMATIC

A fixed sequence, from conflict check to the witness stand.

STEP 1

Conflict Check

Parties, carriers, and counsel are screened before any substantive discussion. Independence is confirmed first or the engagement does not proceed.

STEP 2

Records & Data Intake

Valuation reports, repair records, photographs, and title history are catalogued into a single documented case file.

STEP 3

Valuation Analysis

Market data is gathered, comparables vetted, and adjustments applied under a transparent, reproducible methodology.

STEP 4

Defensible Report

Findings are issued in a written report that states its data, its reasoning, and its limits — nothing left to inference.

STEP 5

Testimony Support

Where matters proceed, the analysis is defended at deposition or trial, consistent with the written record.

PARTIES SERVED

The methodology does not change with the client. The same standards apply whether the engagement originates with plaintiff's counsel, a carrier, or an owner in dispute.

ENGINEERING PRINCIPLES

Why counsel keeps the number.

Independent & Conflict-Checked

No carrier contracts, no repair-network affiliations, no stake in the outcome. Every engagement clears a conflict check before work begins, so the opinion belongs to the evidence alone.

Transparent & Reproducible

Comparables, adjustments, and sources are stated in full. A qualified reviewer following the same data should reach the same figure — that is the test every report is built to pass.

One Point of Accountability

The analyst who signs the report is the one who takes your calls, sits for deposition, and answers for the work. Nothing is delegated into anonymity.

FREQUENT INQUIRIES

Questions counsel and claimants ask first.

What does PROTELLIGENCE do?+
PROTELLIGENCE provides independent vehicle valuation and litigation consulting services for attorneys, insurers, businesses, financial institutions, and individual vehicle owners. Services include total-loss valuation review, diminished-value analysis, independent market valuation, valuation report review, litigation support, and expert testimony.
When should I consider engaging a vehicle valuation expert?+
An expert may be appropriate when a vehicle's value is disputed, comparable vehicles do not accurately reflect the subject vehicle, diminished value is at issue, or an independent opinion is needed for litigation, mediation, arbitration, or settlement negotiations.
Does PROTELLIGENCE work for both plaintiffs and defendants?+
Yes. PROTELLIGENCE accepts engagements based on the facts and merits of the matter, not the side of the dispute. Our role is to provide an independent, supportable valuation opinion based on the available evidence and market data.
Do you review CCC One and other insurance valuation reports?+
Yes. PROTELLIGENCE reviews insurer and third-party valuation reports, including CCC One reports, to evaluate comparable vehicles, adjustments, vehicle condition, options, mileage, market geography, methodology, fees, taxes, and other factors that may affect the reported value.
What is included in a vehicle valuation analysis?+
The scope depends on the engagement but may include vehicle specifications and history, condition, mileage, options and equipment, relevant market data, comparable vehicles, transaction and asking-price evidence, prior valuation reports, applicable adjustments, and other factors affecting market value. The methodology, assumptions, supporting evidence, and conclusions are documented in the final analysis.
How is PROTELLIGENCE different from an online vehicle-value calculator?+
Automated valuation tools can provide useful reference points, but litigation and disputed valuations often require a more detailed analysis. PROTELLIGENCE evaluates the specific vehicle, relevant market evidence, comparable vehicles, valuation methodology, and circumstances of the matter rather than relying solely on an automated estimate.
Does PROTELLIGENCE provide expert testimony?+
Yes. Jack Donachie provides litigation support and expert testimony regarding vehicle valuation, valuation methodology, market evidence, and related automotive industry matters when appropriate to the engagement.
What happens after I request a case review?+
PROTELLIGENCE conducts an initial review to understand the vehicle, valuation issue, available documentation, deadlines, and requested scope of work. For litigation matters, a conflict check is completed before an engagement is accepted. If the matter is appropriate for PROTELLIGENCE, we will outline the proposed scope, required information, timing, and professional fees before beginning work.
Can PROTELLIGENCE assist before litigation is filed?+
Yes. An independent valuation opinion can be useful during pre-suit evaluation, demand preparation, settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and other stages where the value of a vehicle is disputed. Early analysis can also help counsel assess the strengths and weaknesses of an existing valuation before deciding how to proceed.
Will PROTELLIGENCE support a predetermined valuation or litigation position?+
No. PROTELLIGENCE's role is to provide an independent professional opinion based on the available evidence and appropriate valuation methodology. We do not begin an engagement with a predetermined value or alter a conclusion to support a particular litigation position.
Does PROTELLIGENCE accept engagements nationwide?+
Yes. PROTELLIGENCE serves clients nationwide. Much of the valuation analysis can be completed remotely using vehicle records, photographs, market data, valuation reports, repair documentation, and other evidence. Physical inspections can be considered when necessary.
What types of vehicles and valuation matters does PROTELLIGENCE handle?+
PROTELLIGENCE primarily handles passenger vehicles, SUVs, trucks, specialty and higher-value vehicles, including total-loss disputes, diminished-value matters, independent market valuations, and valuation report reviews. For unusual or highly specialized vehicles, the matter is reviewed first to determine whether it falls within our expertise.
